I guess at this point it's appropriate that I mention DTrace ;)


(Jiko will of course groan at this point).


http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/content/dtrace/ is the reference site.

Basically it's a tool which allows you to dynamically instrument
your code down to the instruction level -- something which Russell
indicated he found useful.

Sure, it's only going to arrive with Solaris 10 later this
year, but so what? You can download a beta of s10 right now
if you want and start playing with it right away.
