I should have added these links to my earlier reply,

a quick check and the processor is a powerpc chip, and there are a 
number of distros that you can choose from, including Mandrake and  
Yellowdog,

checkout http://www.ppckernel.org

and a quick check of debian shows

http://www.debian.org/ports/powerpc/

so yes you are in luck,
