NAME
        man - macros to format man pages

However, I doubt this is exactly what somebody who didn't know the 'man' 
command would be looking for.

man 1 man
is more what you'd need if you didn't know about 'man':

man(1)                  Manual pager utils                 man(1)

NAME
        man - an interface to the on-line reference manuals
