Hello,
I've been trying to run quicken under wine. I have a win98 install under
which quicken 99 deluxe works very well, and it works under the
codeweavers crossover office trial version I've downloaded. I'm very
interested to know why wine, which seems to have positive reviews wrt
wine splashed around the web doesn't work for me at all.
Whenever quicken opens its data file under wine it crashes. This occurs
whether I setup wine to run with or without the win98 installation. The
problem is apparently an exception being thrown at that time.
I've tried wine versions 20030618, 20030813. According to the debian
package management system I can't go back further than that without
running into conflicts with libc6.
If I have to shell out the money for cxoffice I will, but with all the
good reports about quicken I really expected to be able to at least look
at some of the data in my files. Is there some major problem that only
affects my setup? :)
