I use to use gqcam, not too bad and easy to use, but for video
conferencing, try gnomemeeting, it has all the video conferencing
features you need (although I am having troubles setting up my firewall
for it). I have also use gspy of motion detection and recording, i.e a
cheap security camera, and that worked well too,
