That is exactly what I thought at the start of the year and opted to
download openoffice instead of purchasing MSoffice (albeit for the
student price of $250)

By the end of the first semester, I had enough - reading documents/etc
with it was less than pleasurable and in one case a file was distorted
(and basically unrestorable) which separated a table containing revision
questions and the true/false - the true/false column was completely OFF
the paper.  (Obviously these documents/etc were composed using MSoffice)

Also, in composition openoffice is lacking.  When MSoffice is only $250,
why bother with openoffice at all?
