I've had no trouble with reading from NTFS, and generally on my main box
(which runs Win2K Pro SP4, Linux From Scratch, Gentoo Linux 1.4 and
Syllable), I normally have my Windows 2000 partition mounted. My kernel
has write support disabled.
I haven't dared to run a kernel with NTFS write support enabled,
although I've heard it on the grapevine that the biggest problems at the
moment are with file permissions on the NTFS volume. Apparently Linux
messes these up.
