Hello Fellow Computer Enthusiasts,
Quick question about X, hopefully someone here knows more about it that can
help me, I'm running xfree 4.3 (Redhat 9). I used to run 4.2 with the ATI
drivers off their webpage, but when I updated to 4.3 those drivers stopped
working, so after some searching I found unreleased ATI drivers for 4.3,
they work very nicely, 3d acceleration and all, and the only problem I have
had with them is a small one, but annoying: Whenever I move the mouse with
the left button down a box is drawn around my mouse cursor and everything
underneath gets totally corrupted, it also happens when I use the mouse
scroll wheel to move down a document, little bits of the document (the size
of the box around the mouse) will spread themselves down the page, rendering
the document useless until you do something that redraws the window, any
ideas guys??, I have attached a screenshot so you know what i'm talking
about, I hope this is allowed :), ok change of plans, everytime I press
printscreen it redraws the screen, removing the corruption and making the
screenshot useless :( so now I hope that my explaination is sufficient, I
did manage to remove the problem by enabling no_accel in my XF86Config, but
then I have no DRI, and thats bad :(.
any suggestions for me to try?, i'm open to anything, if you need more
details ask me.
Thanks once again,
Joe
