I think Robert means the latter: "Complete Shit" because USB was
afterall mainly developed for the home user.  Mind you, a lot still do
quite a nice job for all the basics.

If resolution isn't important, you could get a standard analogue
camcorder and use a video-in card to capture it.  Most video cameras do
audio & video along with having RCA sockets on the back for hooking to
an external VCR or monitor.
