"Begging the question" is a rhetorical technique where the answer to a 
question is presupposed as it is stated, so no, it doesn't beg the question.

It's on the Red Hat HCL, for what it's worth:

and it certainly works well enough on my wife's Asus CUSI-M motherboard, 
and was detected by 8.0. Did it detect the card during FirstBoot, and 
produce the Play Test Sound button?
