According to the KOrganizer website [1], the Hot New Stuff feature is 
based on the iCalendar standard.  You could use any number of iCalendar 
related tools to build the calendar file.  I'd be quite happy to supply 
you with my list of possible/probable talks if you want it.

I've been playing a little with Mozilla Calendar in my copious spare 
time with a view to putting it to my own use, and possibly for the 
HUMBUG Talks Schedule which presently sits as a text file on my hard 
drive.  When I get a spare minute, I'll dedicate more time to 
experimenting with tools and scripts to automate the task.
