    Well I'm probably not the man to ask. I used slackware up until Redhat
4.1 came out, then switched Redhat. Never looked back. Mandrake is supposed
to be more desktop oriented, but I've never had any exposure to that dist...
I think DJ is a debian man these days??? Debian has some interesting package
installation things, and can certainly run on a lot less disk space than
Redhat...

    With a little luck, someone might have an opinion on another dist. It's
all horses for courses really. Harvey Norman used to sell Redhat and
Mandrake boxed sets, and those boxes might give you some more information to
compare them, without you necessarily deciding to buy a retail set.

    I don't think Browns Plains is anywhere near me. Not that I have a clue
where those disks are at the moment anyway! But there's bound to be someone
nearby. Just got to get their attention :)
