Leafnode started playing up on me during the Daylight Savings Time
changeover[1] earlier this year. While trying to debug it I started
to think about a system where all, or at least most, of the
applications were compiled with debugging symbols in as opposed to
out.

Imagine being able to see something misbehave and *immediately*
connecting a debugger and having the sources *right there* to refer
to! I'm pretty sure it'd be possible to do this with a BSD---Greg?
Any opinions?

In the particular case of leafnode, because I had to fetch, compile,
and install the software to try to track down the problem, my window
closed and to this day I don't know what was *really* going on.

[1] : Well, I assume that's what it was. It was certainly on the day
of the DST changeover even if it was nearly 10 hours before New
York was due to shift its clocks. The problem was the leafnode
was sending error messages to syslog about time mismatches with
foreign servers even though connecting to the NNTP port and
comparing times indicated there was no such mismatch.
