Umm, the four second delay monitor is LCD.
The post you were replying to I will get around to answering later but I
suspect that my two SyncMasters have very similar scan ranges, and these
are the two with the most disparate timing. I will take the time because
they are at home and I am not, so I will have the info tomorrow.
To reiterate, those two monitors are VERY similar in spec and running on
the same video card / computer. Thus most variables have been accounted
for. The old one syncs in a fraction of a second, the new one in four
seconds.
I was about to suggest moving this to H-chat, but every now and then
XFree86 gets a mention, so we are probably barely keeping to the H-general
charter.
