[H-GEN] Graphical Login

Hi All....
This is possibly a simple question BUT ive looked everywhere for the 
answer.....

I made my Red Hat 8.0 machine crash and so had to reinstall the whole thing 
again.....when doig the the install i cmae to the Xconfiguration panel and 
setup my video card and monitor then tried to test it and it hung so i had to 
go Alt-Ctrl-Backspace to get out of it.....the Xconfig works ok  BUT on the 
same setup panel is the login for either Graphical or Text.....as i had to 
use a 3 finger key action the login setup didnt work.....

Question is how or what file do i edit to get the graphical (auto) login to 
work.....at the moment when it comes to the Login under the bootup it doest 
go on to start X but stops until i put in the login and password and when i 
get the prompt i put in KDM to start the X and KDE.....it should go from the 
login promt direct to loading the X and then the login screen for KDE..

Anyhelp and/or tips would be very much apprecated
