which nix?

i know under openbsd you can use basically the same steps as you outlined
above. the details are explained at
http://www.backwatcher.org/writing/howtos/obsd-encrypted-filesystem.html. im
guessing that it would be fairly similair under netbsd, no idea under
freebsd or other bsd variants.
