[H-GEN] Apache segfaulting... FIXED !!

Oops, no I didn't.  That said, neither of those URLs metioned 
preloading.  Anyway, I fiddled around with the preloading and once I 
figured out that it's LD_PRELOAD under linux (not LD_LIBRARY_PRELOAD) 
then it solved the problem... completely... YAY !!  I now have

   export LD_PRELOAD=/oracle/as9i/lib/libclntsh.so.8.0

in the init script for apache and all is happy.

Perhaps someone could explain exactly[1] why this would solve the sort 
of thing I was seeing.

Thanks to all who provided help with this, it's much appreciated.  Now 
to go add this to the production system as well.
