I have a client that uses Bigpond cable for their internet connection and
they are having problems sending mail out to large numbers of addresses.
They have over 300 addresses in 7 different groups. When 1 of those
addresses has a problem the mail doesn't get sent.
Instead of Bigponds server accepting the mail, attempting to send to 300
addresses, receiving a 'mailbox over quota' message and sending that back to
the client Outlook gets an error message and none of the mail gets sent.
The problem also happens with Outloook Express. The only solution he has is
to remove the problem address and attempt to send it again until all problem
addresses are removed and the mail is accepted.
Once it is sent he will normally receive mail back with 'Address unknown'
and 'mailbox full' from addresses that were initially accepted. The rejected
e-mail addresses vary from day to day, Bigponds 'help' was to just do what
he is doing.
Has anyone had experience with this problem? Has Bigpong[1] configured their
mail server wrong?
