Most of the time it is true. It is around two and a half to three hours
walking between my place and UQ. While I usually walk there, I often get a
lift back from Mark or Tony. On the other hand, for the last two meetings,
I had to travel to Mansfield first thing in the morning by bus, buy some
computer bits, and go home and install / test / configure them. This left
it too late to walk to the meetings so I caught a bus and / or taxi, but
Mark and Tony had both left before I did the last two times, so I walked
home. So usually it's three hours walking, sometimes six if I walk both
ways, but with a ten hour break B-).

I usually insist on walking to the meetings, but generally prefer to get a
lift home. Mostly because it is usually very late when the meeting stops,
and I need sleep more than I need the exercise.

As for the exercise, I am training myself to carry large loads for long
distances because I intend to do a lot of walking around the bush in two
years time, going out for months at a time. I am up to 25kg for eight
hours three times aweek and aiming for 35 to 40 kg for eight hours five
times a week. 25kg of computer gear for three hours is a walk in the park
B-).

So, if you are going home the same time I am (end of meeting, whenever that
is), and heading towards New Farm, then I would love a lift.
