Crossfire really is a top game.  I've been playing for years.  I even did
a talk at Humbug on it once (who said all talks had to be about serious
topics :)

Netrek is also a great game.  The windows world don't know what they are
missing :)  Actually Crossfire got a windows client a couple of years back
but it hasn't had great exposure on that platform (whereas on the unix
platform it is often readily installed by your distro/OS and advertised on
unix game sites).
