Heh :) As a matter of principle I enable power saving on all my
computer devices if I can.
Under XP, I set Hibernate after a period, I set all my drives and
monitors to power down after idle periods, and if my system is stable,
I even do processor slowdown if the system supports it and is stable.
I do the same under Linux, and even my Irix based Indy has power
saving enabled in its limited form.
I'm far from a tree hugging hippy, but if everybody made a small
contribution to energy use in this manner (turning off TVs not in use
and so on), the savings would be astounding.
Even if it doesn't "save" my devices, I do save power, and I can see
it reflected on my power bill.
