Hi John.  I've setup UML before on a box.  It isn't dangerous to your main
installation as you're just running a process - albeit a process that is
infact a kernel in its own right :)

One tip though - you need to patch the kernel source & compile to get a
UML enabled kernel.  I suggest keeping seperate kernel src for UML & for
the rest of the system.

It is really cool to see a virtual Linux box booting as a process on your
main system.

I understand there are businesses out there doing this.
