This is assuming a dynamic IP. If using a static IP ADSL connection, you don't
need any software. The modem appears as another direct IP address. I've got
a dynamic one here at home and it was easy to setup with PPPoE. The one
for the workshop (static) was easy to setup too. Both units use a DLINK modem
(DSL300 I think) and use a straight RJ-RJ cable from modem to the Ethernet 
card.
