I was thinking of suggesting this, but to me that'd feel a bit akin to
removing the spark plugs from a Ferrari's engine, and then trying to
crank the engine over.
I also do remember there were some quirks to do with getting a serial
console without having first reached a frame buffer console.
Being a fan of SGI hardware[1], I'm curious as to what was picked up
in the bundle of Indys.[2] I'd be willing to part with cash for
fascinating bits.[3]
[1] It's more fun than Sun hardware.
