Hmm, thanks for the heads-up.  I was amazed that it didn't work like
that for me.  And oops, still doesn't - something is broken here.
(I recently rearranged things on my hard drives, created/resized
some lvm partitions, etc...)

My lesson for the day: I should have tried this on another box
before I posted :-)
