This seems a little strange - a sendmail style virtual domain for
localhost (assuming you have localhost in mydestination in main.cf), but
I don't know anything about the rest of your setup, and I'm far from a
mail expert - tho' I have a postfix setup at my workplace.

Have a look at /etc/postfix/transport
You may need a line like
.localhost local:
...or...
.localhost smtp:[127.0.0.1]
