okay, should have clarified, access to redhat updates by up2date is
restricted not only be preferential bandwidth jigering, but now redhat
is using survey forms as a condition to the free service. I have been
received survey forms from redhat, so if I complete the form, I am then
entitled to use up2date service for a further 60 days ( I think it was
60 days, it may have been more). As I couldn't be bothered filling out
their survey form every so often, I opted for autoupdate.

well, that is an interesting question. I knew redhat 9 was not available
to non-subscribers until the 7th, but I decided to check telstra/bigpond
free download site on the 2nd of april anyway, and to my surprise all 3
discs for redhat 9 were there. I downloaded and upgraded 2 of my
machines, so it was definitely 9 that I got. Now I have just re-checked
so I can post a url and its no longer there. So I'm guessing there was a
glitch so that anyone could download redhat 9. I had noticed there were
already some 270 downloads before I saw it.

If you, or anyone, else are interested in a copy, I am happy to burn
one, just email me and have 3 blank cds ready. I am home most of the time,

cheers

Johann
