I don't like many of the things that the default does filter either.
But because it's perl, it can be easily changed and extended.  I
don't let it "defang" file extensions, but I do "quarantine"
potentially executable windows attachments (where appropriate).
Nobody seems to mind too much, and it doesn't happen very often at
all.  It would hardly be an issue for the humbug lists :-)
