Not bad. I do have a couple of suggestions :)
I've always found nfs performance to not be up to the demands placed on it
with respect to backups. Also if you start allowing root access via nfs
it becomes quite insecure. I prefer using scp. I have a cronjob run on
each Linux box doing a tar which is then scp'ed to the backup server.
Although the cron job runs as root it logs into the backup server (which
does some other jobs also) as a non-priviliged user I setup for the
purpose.
All the relevant directories on the backup server are writable by the
backup user.
