Good morning all,

I am planning to set up a RH7.3 machine with a USB modem as a remote access
server some time in the next 2-3 weeks.

I've had a cursory look at the mgetty man page, and see no specific reference
to USB modems, it only seems to talk about tty devices. I've also had a look
in the /dev directory an see a usb subdirectory ( /dev/usb ) with lots of
ttyUSBx devices.

At this point I am assuming that I'll be able to configure mgetty to use, say,
dev/ttyUSB0 for a USB modem instead of ttyS0 for a serial modem. Can anyone
confirm if this assumption is correct. ie: Does anyone actually have mgetty
working with a USB modem?

Also, if anyone has experience with mgetty on USB modems and knows any tricks,
tips, etc., I'd really appreciate knowing ahead of time.

Regards,
Ewan

P.S.
I'll also be looking closely at any responses to Paul's posting earlier this
morning.
