Folks,
I need to bug the collective knowledge of people here.
Problem:
I want to share a printer on the network, and don't want to spend the
money to buy a print server. I've got an old pc here, with a floppy drive
and no hard drive. I need something that boots from floppy and creates a
print server that windows machines can use. I have another linux server
(with hard drives) present on the network.
Solution:
1. Floppy boot samba server. Don't know if this is possible. Is it?
2. Floppy boot lpd server. The other machine can be a samba print server,
and pass information to the lpd server in true *n*x style.
3. Etherboot off the network, and mount a share with samba on it from
across the network.
Which is the easiest, which works the best, which way would you go about
this problem?
