>From my experince, the configurations do not have to be identical. Usualy
the secondary DNS server is some ISP that will do secondary DNS for many
clients, as the primary DNS is your DNS server that is responcible only for
your zone. This is the setup I have at work anyway.

Fact!
One should have two DNS servers for a domain or virtual domain(s).

Question!
Does the second DNS service have to have an identical bind.conf to the
primary server with corresponding identical db.my.domain files?  If no, how
does the setup differ?
(If this leads to a response of "Duh!", I apologise - one only learns by
asking)

Fact!
One should have a backup MX server.

Question!
How would the setup of this backup MX server differ from the primary MX
server?
