Howdy folks

Can someone please enlighten me on DSL/Cable/ADSL access providers who provide access in the St Lucia/Toowong/Indroopilly area.  
I am looking  for  a provider whose service operates smoothly with Linux/FreeBSD.
I read somewhere that it is hard to get Optus in an apartment block, has anyone experienced this? What about Telstra? 
Are there any other companies who provide DSL/Cable/ADSL access in these areas to home users?

Any information greatly appreciated
