Over the last 12-18 months, Dell have consistantly produced the best prices 
(by a reasonable margin) for all servers I have been responsible for buying.

I will admit though that all the machines I've bought were dual processor in 
the $15,000+ category.  And, Dell are keen to get 'in the door' at Mincom 
given the amount we spend each year on computer hardware.

I don't know your situation re: personal purchase vs company purchase - but 
Dell currently have some sort of offer on for obligation free 30 day trials 
of servers.  This offer includes the option to purchase at the end of the 
trial at 50% discount.  I think this offer is for potential _new_ customers 
only, so it may or may not be worth investigating in your case.
