Hi all. Anyone played with any Linux or generic unix based virus scanning
software. I'd love to hear how the different packages performed. For
reference, the box is running sendmail as an MTA.
Price is somewhat of an issue here but not insurmountable.
As an aside does anyone know of any unix based non-signature virus
scanners. In the past there were virus scanners that avoided the use of
signature files (amazingly :) The advocates would have us believe they
did as well as the current signature based scanners with nothing like an
update needed. Apparently the things they scanned for were generic to all
viruses. I found a web site once which seemed somewhat convincing but
I'd need more info before I believed it :) If they did exist a GPL
version would be most interesting :)
Cheers,
-Rob
