[H-GEN] borrow a 16/24-port 10/100 hub?

I do some work for a not-for profit organisation (funded from
membership subs). The office is in a very secure location in a
Brisbane city building. Of course, the server and firewall are
running linux and doing a fine job at it too :)

Their network (samba clients) hangs off a 24-port hub that is now
becoming noisy with a fan that is limping along in desperate need of
replacement. The hub (a 3com superstack) has a lifetime guarantee
on it, so actually getting it serviced is not a problem.

But when that hub gets taken out for repair, down goes the network
-- and most of the office might as well go on leave :)

Buying another hub is silly, and rather than spend their funds to
rent one, I'm wondering if anyone happens to know of a hub lying
idle that could be used as a suitable short-term replacement. It
definitely needs to be 10/100, 16-ports might be possible but
awkward.

If nothing turns up, I have no idea - without resorting to the
yellow pages and web searches - what it could cost to rent one.
Can anyone point me in the right direction with recommendations for
people around Brisbane who offer these sorts of services?

If anyone can help, that would be fantastic. Send me an email
(beware the reply-to: header from the mailing list!) and I'll ring
you, or ring my mobile (0408 066336) where I can ring you right
back.

(I hope these sort of requests are not regarded as offtopic, but
local knowledge can be a mighty helpful thing... :)

Many thanks.

Cheers
Tony
