G'day All,
I know that no one else has ever done this before
-[just like backing up vital data, I suppose!]
But...........
I have forgotten my root/admin password for the Router/Server.

I did write it down - and put it in a Secret Squirrel place, and all that.
The trouble is I can't find the damm place.

The o/s is E Smith 4.1.
It is all still running fine, no probs, but the advice we were given one Humbug
[Mark Suter?] was to change the p/w regularly - and so, 3 months down the track,
low and behold, etc. - Unable to be regular! Sigh.

So the question is.
Is there any way I can delete the root p/w,
and put in something simple - like my Humbug boxen password - that I can just
remember.

Or will I have to completely reload E Smith to get to the p/w bit??
[that destroys all data on the hdd, you know]

As I said, nothing is broken, everything works, I just cannot access the serious
bit of the server.
cheers Tony
