[MTA of choice], sshd, [pro|wu]ftpd, apache,
[DB system of choice (Postgresql)] ....

the list of no tty services you might want to run from init is quite
big. :)

not having run vnc I am unfamilliar with it's properties, but in my
experince most things that people run from inetd can handle multiple
quieries when run in daemon mode. Daemon mode is normally a better way
to handle things as it is a little better on your memory usage, proccess
id's and respose times as an entire copy of the proccess doesn't have to
be spawned. As an example you'd be nuts to run apache or sendmail from
inetd.
