For $28 I got a C-Media 8738. Uses the cmpci driver and loads first time. 
Mine has 6-channel support, and dolby 5.1 support. Never had a problem. Why 
settle for an expensive name brand when you can get something better for 
the same price and you don't have to have something that has "Creative" 
written on it.
