I was advocating that people might spend *minutes* on their
REs.  Anybody who spends more than a few minutes trying to get a
result with a RE is definitely using the wrong hammer and should
go back to their toolbox for something more suited to whatever
they're trying to accomplish.

Of course, learners will take longer than experts and should
allow for that -- but nobody should take even so much as an hour
to get on top of a RE.
