| Could we please have the acronym unwound for the n00bs amongst us?

K is Brian W Kernighan, R is Dennis M Ritchie. They authored a
book called "The C Programming Language". The 1st edition of
the book appeared in 1978 and became known by some as "the white
book" and by others as "K&R". The 2nd edition appeared in 1988
and covered the then about-to-appear standard covering C. It
became known as "K&R2" in situations where it seemed useful to
distinguish between editions. Few people were better qualified
to write such a book and it has become an enduring classic. Not
everybody likes it, although many people who make their living
by writing C (including me) learned it from K&R and think very
fondly of it for that reason.
