Run the following commands to get an idea of system activity:
vmstat 5 >> ~/vmstat.log
iostat 5 >> ~/iostat.log
Run these for a period of time, and wait to see the problem. We can then
look at the output from the time the problem existed.
Also, what user is smbd running as - look at the ulimit for the account &
see you have enough file descriptors, etc.
With only a few users i'm quite surprised you are seeing issues :)
Do a free to see you have swap enabled.
