[ Humbug *General* list - semi-serious discussions about Humbug and ]

Picking up on the 'backup strategies' panel that was deferred until after
Easter...

nominations for panel
Jason Parker
Mark Suter
Rob Brockway
(+ others as the above see fit....)

Suggested 'presentations' / talk / ideas to throw around....
- 'emergency/rescue' editors.
- backup philosophy.
- critique of sample backup scripts/procedures.
- hardware considerations.
- physical considerations (ie: server room power supply, security, etc)
- backup strategy with databases(as I understand it, backing up databases can
present it's own unique problems) [Arjen perhaps?]

Perhaps one of our more experienced sysadmins might care to setup a box for
lesser mortals to try to recover before flexing their fingers....

If your topic is not in the above list, fear not, it can be added.

I think the consensus was for 6pm to 7pm, other non humbug activities to take
a back seat during the session.

In keeping with the linux 'way' I'm hoping an exchange of war stories, trade
secrets and useful tricks will help us all learn something (or remember
things we've forgotten). I'm guessing it will be fairly adlib, but if someone
wants to put together a presentation/tutorial session that would be _very_
cool.

Mat.
ps: apologies in advance, seems I lack committment this weekend and allowed
my scuba diving in Byron Bay to clash with Humbug. Any suggestions of how to
load linux into my dive computer will be appreciated.
