Subject: Debian Issue needs resolving ASAP - involves getting paid!!!

Hi All,

I just received a phone call from Claude at Razor Print in
the Valley. He is having an issue with his network as follows:

Debian Linux box configured as a DialUp Router/Gateway to a
Primus dial-up account. Inside this P-II (or P-III) Debian
box are a number of Macs.

The Macs are unable to regularly send/receive email through
the Debian router. This may be a Mac issue, a Debian Router
issue, or an ISP issue. I have managed to get the following
config information so far (I have not been onsite).

Router:	IP Address	192.168.0.1
		Subnet Mask	255.255.255.0
		Gateway
		DNS Primary	unknown
		DNS Second	unknown

Macs IP 192.168.0.1 and up
		Subnet	255.255.255.0
		Gateway	192.168.0.1
		DNS Primary	unconfigured
		DNS Second	unconfigured

As I mentioned, the issue may be related to the config of
Outlook Express on the Macs, the Debian box itself, the modem
configuration, the Primus ISP account, or their Asia Online
email account.

Now, the issue I have with going and doing this job myself is
that it has been quite a while since I have played with
modems under Linux and I am not too sure of myself there.
But mainly that I do not know the Debin *way* at all. I have
tried configuring a Debian box here and got hopelessly stuck.

So, would someone who knows enough about Debian be able to
ring Claude on 07 3852 1977 and arrange to go and sort this
out. Also, please email me or phone me on 0419 792 394 and
let me know when this has been arranged.

A second issue will be when the Primus ADSL modem arrives
(supposedly) next week. This system will then need to be
configured for operation with the modem and NIC (which may be
supplied with the Modem, may be there already, or may need to
be purchased and installed). Whoever fixes the current mess
would also need to be able to configure the system to talk to
the ADSL modem when it arrives.

Thanks in advance.
