Matt,
you posted messages which were output by make just above your command shell prompt. If you
are running the compile in a window with scrollback capability then you should be able
to see those messages above the ones you posted, and copy+paste them into another email.

gcc's errors will look something similar to this:

$ gcc /tmp/testing.c -o /tmp/testing   
/tmp/testing.c: In function `main':
/tmp/testing.c:2: warning: return type of `main' is not `int'
Undefined                       first referenced
 symbol                             in file
prntf                               /var/tmp/cc4CzGsf.o
ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors. No output written to /tmp/testing
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
