I use qmail+vpopmail+courier-imap+sqwebmail with a lot of success.  Just 
read all the documentation you can get your hands on, and follow the 
instructions.  You could also use the full Courier email package, as it 
contains courier-imap and sqwebmail anyway. Everything you need can be 
found on or linked to at http://www.inter7.com/vchkpw/
