I reckon use X but try to use only console apps if there is one
available, usually more reliable anyway IMHO. Imagine you have a
100mhz CPU and 16meg of ram (or better still downclock it and take
simms out - no don't be silly).

Dem's fightin' words ;-)

Seriously though I grabbed Mozilla 0.7 a couple of days ago and for
those of you who havn't tried it recently it's really worth it.
Better than Netscape6. I got the redhat rpms and it might be specific
to them but if you aren't using IPv6 make sure you have 'alias
net-pf-10 off' in /etc/modules.conf, speeds it up heaps, well in
rh6.2 anyway.

As an aside I put Moz0.7 on my flatmates win98 machine(400mhz 96meg ram)
too. I'm going to wipe it for him soon because it is really suffering
from dll-hell, is really unstable doing anything. Except ironically it
runs Moz faster than my redhat machine (400mhz 128meg ram). Go
figure. (no jabs at rh please)
