The original post was well within the accepted usage of the mailing list
-- thank you for posting this opportunity to the HUMBUG general lists.
Everyone should feel free to post these opportunities to the list -- UNIX
releated work should be sent through the executive so we can post it to
the wider distribution of announce.

The chest thumping macho 'me toos' were off topic for general, and only
just ontopic for chat. Such immature flamefesting has no place within
HUMBUG.
