[ Humbug *General* list - semi-serious discussions about Humbug and ]

[ Worthwhile understanding: http://www.humbug.org.au/netiquette.html ]

I thought the subject would get your attention. I have a simple question in
two parts:

a) Do any of you have a network with ONLY Linux servers (or SCO, or perhaps
also Solaris running your Oracle system, but no M$ PDC),

_*!_AND_!*_

b) have Windows 2000 Professional workstations _*happily*_ configured and
running on your network?

When I say happily, I mean being able to browse new shares on the Linux
servers without having to re-enter username and password each time you
access a new share (ie. Windows login where the netlogon script sets up four
or five network drive mappings, all on the same server, and the user has to
re-enter username and password for each one). That is if you can browse the
network at all.

If you haven't experimented with Win2K workstations on a Linux server, have
a go, because it's different to a Win9x workstation setup, and seems to be
different to NT4Wkstation as well.

Any horror stories, tales of doom, etc, appreciated.
