[H-GEN] Stopping nameserver lookup for local subnet

I'm coming from the point of view of my machine being the only nixian
one in the house and it ip_masqs the cable modem to my flatmates win98
machine and the occasional friend who comes over to enjoy our
hospitality (ie cable).  We have no spare machines, my workstation
*is* the firewall and nothing is worse than having you linux machine
spit the dummy (or be compromised) in front of your windows friends ;-).

On rereading of your post you do have a good point on having
infrastructure in place even if only as a learning experience.
